1. Summer Intern (Analytical and Advisory Services Division)

Duties: Summer interns are mainly deployed to (a) assist Chemist in carrying out method development work and classification of suspected dangerous goods, involving instrumental analysis and data interpretation; or (b) assist Chemist in data analysis of research projects; and to assist in literature research, drafting reports and presentations for the project results.

Employment Period: June to August 2025 (around three months)

Entry Requirements:
Applicants should –


1. be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
2. be full-time Year 2 or above students of undergraduate or post-graduate programmes in post-secondary institutions and majoring in Chemistry or Biochemistry;
3. met the language proficiency requirements of Level 4 in Chinese Language and English Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [Note (2)];
4. be proficient in using MS Office application; and
5. be fluent in both Cantonese and English.

2. Summer Intern (Forensic Science Division)

Duties: Summer interns are mainly deployed to (a) provide support for Chemist in carrying out method development works for screening common drugs and poisons by using liquid chromatography–high resolution mass spectrometry; or (b) assist Chemist in conducting Research and Development project(s) pertaining to biological evidence examination, involving experimental design, data collection and analysis.

Employment Period: June to August 2025 (around three months)

Entry Requirements:
Applicants should –


1. be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
2. be full-time Year 3 or above students of undergraduate or post-graduate programmes in post-secondary institutions and majoring in Chemistry, Biochemistry or Forensic Science, preferably with background knowledge of mass spectrometry;
3. et the language proficiency requirements of Level 4 in Chinese Language and English Language of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;
4. be proficient in using MS Office application; and
5. be fluent in both Cantonese and English.

Terms of Appointment:
Rest days, statutory holidays, general holidays, sickness days, where appropriate will be granted to successful candidates in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
